Youth Ready Community Council (YRCC), Region 3 Lead Agency
BBF is in its second year of a $75,000/year contract with the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services to serve as the Region 3 YRCC Lead Agency. The purpose of YRCC is to engage in analysis of regional data and develop a response that supports a regional and citywide network of youth services throughout Chicago. In accordance with the scopes of the YRCC contract, BBF: Leads an ongoing joint community planning and needs response process; Serves as an Information and Referral Hub for Region 3; Meets with area aldermen tri-annually; Participates in monthly meetings with other Community Councils; and Works collaboratively with the Department of Family and Support Services to ensure the healthy functioning of the YRCC initiative.

Illinois Violence Prevention Authority/Governor’s Neighborhood Recovery Initiative
After being recommended by 24th Ward Alderwoman Sharon Dixon to serve as North Lawndale’s Lead Agency, BBF was awarded a $1.25M contract by the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority to manage this research-based approach to reducing community violence and ameliorating its effects. The bulk of funding has been sub-awarded to community partners to deliver a suite of integrated services, including re-entry, peer advocacy, parent advocacy, and trauma-informed counseling.
