Volunteer

BBF is committed to community involvement and interagency collaboration, and we welcome the involvement of volunteers.  Those interested in volunteering can:

• Tutor individual students needing assistance in specific subject areas
• Help with project mailings, computer projects and general office administration
• Serve as chaperones on summer outings
• Assist with special projects such as annual student performances, youth-led community-service activities, academic bowls, and student art exhibits
• Interact with children through one of our BBF student clubs.

Make An In-Kind Donation

BBF accepts donations of new products for use by the children we serve including:

• Board games
• Puzzles
• Sports equipment
• School supplies
• Art/crafts materials
• Books
• DVDs
• Educational software
• First aid kit supplies
• CTA fare cards, etc.
• As well as gift cards to stores at which we shop regularly for program and general operating supplies (Target, Sam’s Club, Blick Art & Supplies, Toys-R-Us, etc.)

We also accept donations around the following special initiatives:

• Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays — Each year, BBF distributes turkeys and other holiday meal fixings as well as gifts to families in need. 
• Holiday Magic — BBF accepts wrapped and unwrapped holiday gifts and/or gift certificates and cards for distribution to the children we serve at our annual holiday party.
